Associate Marketing Manager – CPG Industry

About Our Client:

Our client is a leading global consumer goods organization.

Position Scope:

Product management for assigned products. Management includes profitability, life cycle management, new product introductions, merchandising, promotional and collateral recommendations.


Product Management

  • Develop and launch new products while managing the base business.
  • Assist in the development of a product plan and commercialization of new product launches.
  • Establishment of pricing strategy.
  • Assist in the evaluation, business case creation and commercialization of Canadian new product and category opportunities.
  • Ongoing review and analysis of existing (base business) product performance.

Customer Marketing

  • Develop and launch customer marketing programs.
  • Manage execution & implementation of new customer programs/products/stores and ensure cross-functional alignment internally, with customer and with vendors.
  • Create and maintain effective sales tools and marketing collateral and catalogues.
  • Align with sales management to provide marketing support for customer presentations.


  • Create demand in-store.
  • Lead and execute customer specific display merchandising.
  • Lead and execute promotional display merchandising from concept to execution.

Market Insights

  • Turn data into insights.
  • Evaluate monthly performance data.
  • Collaborate with sales to review audits of product sets, gain knowledge, identify competitive activities and gather market feedback and insights.
  • Create, monitor, analyze and evaluate performance of Marketing Programs launched as a consideration for strategic decision making (new products/planograms, off-shelf promos, line reviews).
  • Update and maintain marketing databases and spreadsheets as required.

Required Skills and Knowledge:

  • Advanced computer skills in Microsoft Office, Tableau, Adobe Creative Suite an asset.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Highly organized and detail oriented.
  • Ability to effectively interact with senior management, customers, sales associates.
  • Excellent verbal and written skills including meeting facilitation and the ability to present to senior management.
  • Possesses strong analytical skills essential for the evaluation of competitive market data, pricing and line management; the ability to formulate strategy anticipating future trends and implications
  • Comfort around management and the ability to effectively interact with customers, sales associates and others

Education and Experience:

  • University business undergraduate degree or MBA required.
  • Minimum of 3 years marketing experience; prior experience in consumer packaged goods or building materials preferred.
  • Ability to travel 5% of the time, US travel required.
