Outside Sales Executive – Building Products

Position: Outside Sales Executive
Location: GVRD
Compensation $60-75,000 Salary + Incentive Compensation + Company Vehicle
Our client is a recognized leader in the distribution of construction products in Canada
The Outside Sales Executive will focus on new customer acquisition and support existing customers in the sale of company products.  The ideal candidate brings more than just a skillset.  They are looking for the right attitude and aptitude and these characteristics may outweigh years of experience.
Responsibilities

  • New business development within assigned region
  • Calling on Home Improvement stores and general contractors (renovation & new build)
  • Increase sales by identifying customer needs, by identifying and removing barriers to sales, and by being a reliable provider of expert product knowledge
  • Maintain quality relationships by being a dependable business partner to our established and prospective customers
  • Determine sales strategies through your understanding and manipulation of data related to your business
  • Deliver on your sales strategies and sales targets through effective call route planning and execution of action plans (daily travel within territory)
  • Be a contributing member of the Branch team by maintaining effective communications with branch staff, your manager, and your peers, to share information gathered through field activity.
  • Support our distribution network as it pertains to large user needs
  • Budget management, vehicle maintenance, communication, follow-up, call-reports

Qualifications

  • Previous related outside sales experience is an asset although a candidate with the right balance of ambition, enthusiasm and personality will certainly be considered.
  • Knowledge of building products industry
  • Superior commitment to customer service with a focus on value-added selling.
  • Excellent self-management, time management and organizational skills.
  • Strong presentation and telephone skills.
  • A valid driver’s license and proof of a clean driving record required.
  • Post secondary education in business or other related area
  • Strong communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Creativity and strategic thinking skills
  • P.C. literate
