This is a full-time outside sales opportunity for metering products and services. Our client has built a reputation for excellence by setting high standards for superior service. They are looking to hire employees that will continue to build on this standard and work to expand their footprint in BC. This role focuses on the development of long-term partnerships with large and small utilities/municipalities. Compensation will be determined by the individual’s experience, skills, abilities, and value they will add to the team.

Responsibilities

  • Full sales cycle activities, including prospecting and sourcing utility contacts, following new leads on products and services
  • Establish and maintain current client relationships
  • Presenting to public works as well as executive level customers
  • Contribute to procurement opportunities, including preparing proposals and presentations
  • Communicate new product and service opportunities, special developments, information or feedback gathered through field activity
  • Co-ordination of delivery and installation schedules for products and services sold to clients
  • Responsible for on-going professional sales development
  • Participate in marketing events such as seminars, trade shows, sales campaign, client events, etc.

Skills and Experience Required

  • Water and/or Gas utility experience, metering and automation experience an asset
  • Network within municipalities would be an asset
  • Preferred candidates have a minimum 5-year proven B2B sales experience and performance
  • Long-term dedication to learn and grow
  • College or University graduate
  • Strong negotiation and persuasion skills
  • Ability to develop and deliver professional presentations and demonstrations
  • Ability to create, compose and edit well written materials
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, technical and non-technical
  • Knowledge of advertising and sales promotion techniques
  • General business intelligence and project management
