Director of Sales & Marketing – Consumer Goods Industry

Reporting to the President, the Director of Sales and Marketing is responsible for providing leadership and direction to the sales & marketing teams to ensure sales and marketing targets are met. As a hands-on leader of a dynamic and forward-thinking team of subject-matter experts, you are responsible for the development and execution of marketing strategies that promote and build the brand and support the sales organization. To be successful in this position, you should be a passionate sales and marketing leader who is always learning and discovering opportunities in a dynamic, innovative and ever-changing consumer goods industry!


What you should expect:

  • Lead the company’s sales and marketing functions
  • Develop a strategic direction and determine appropriate sales targets in consultation with President
  • Establish a sales and marketing budget to support goals
  • Evaluate business offerings to determine whether they are tactically aligned
  • Build strong relationships with key customer accounts, channel, and strategic partners, and vendors
  • Oversee all marketing initiatives including sales materials, exhibits, ecommerce and promotion programs
  • Conduct market research and analysis to identify new market opportunities and business risks
  • Effectively mentor, coach and develop key talent


What you should bring:

  • University degree (MBA preferred)
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and team-building skills
  • Strong business acumen and comfort working with numbers
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Ethical, self-starter
  • Flexible to changing business needs
  • Strong Business Planning, Forecasting, Analytical, and Financial experience
  • Direct sales & marketing experience with regional and national retailers in Canada
  • Demonstrated financial aptitude, judgment expertise, and analytical skills
  • Risk taker, with an innovative/strategic mind
  • Ability to thrive despite frequent high levels of uncertainty
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills
  • Excellent leadership and team interaction skills to allow for maximum influence to key stakeholders
