Forecast Analyst – Global Consumer Goods

About Our Client:

Our client is a leading supplier of consumer goods.

 

Position Scope:

Our client is seeking a Forecast Analyst who will be responsible for sales forecasting for a specific product category (all platforms, regions, channels and brands) to achieve sales and service targets.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain a “Mix” Channel sales forecast (SKU/Week/Location) in order to drive predictability and accuracy
  • Support the Sales organization in the Channel forecasting process (at the volume level) with analytical information as required
  • Work together with Sales and Marketing to understand all strategic initiatives / events / promo activities within major Channels/Trade Partners that may influence the demand signal
  • Manage product transitions from a forecasting and supply chain coordination perspective
  • Build effective relationships with U.S. head office and manufacturing counterparts to ensure production signal actualizes to production
  • Work cross-functionally within supply chain to ensure alignment on forecasts, deployment and execution strategy
  • Manage special projects as they arise

With a category focus, responsibilities will include:

  • Develop and maintain Canada’s aggregate demand forecast for assigned product categories in order to drive predictability and accuracy
  • Work directly with Merchandising and the U.S. team Demand and Supply teams to assure consistency of aggregate demand planning process
  • Represent Canada’s Demand in the Sales & Operations Planning process at all levels (coordinate the information shared amongst Canada’s team, managing the U.S. interface)
  • Benchmark and incorporate industry best practices to drive continuous improvement in forecast accuracy
  • Perform detailed analysis of historical product and channel trends to improve the accuracy and reliability of the volume forecasts.
  • Collaborate on projects and process improvements to drive better execution of forecasting and order management processes

 

Required Education, Skills and Experience:

  • University degree is required (Preferably in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or related field)
  • Detail oriented with strong quantitative/analytical skills
  • Strong proficiency in process improvement methodology (Lean/Six Sigma)
  • Proficiency in Excel, knowledge of business analysis tools and company ERPs applications desired. Experience using SAP is a definite asset.
  • Strong interpersonal, presentation and communication skills
  • Must be a strong team player that exhibits exceptional relationship building, cross-functional skills and communication skills
  • Ability to demonstrate leadership, initiative and determination within a performance-driven environment
