Our client is one of Canada’s largest electrical industrial distribution companies serving a variety of industry sectors.

 As a result of growth, we are currently in an active search for an Inside Applications Sales Representative. This role would be responsible for developing and maintaining positive customer relationships and ensuring that customers are satisfied in regards to order taking, product, pricing, deliveries and overall service.

 Responsibilities include:

  • Contacting current customers and identifying new products and potential up-selling.

  • Responding to and processing incoming calls and orders.

  • Opening new accounts.

  • Developing customer base and sales leads by making cold and warm calls.

  • Entering orders into system.

  • Maintaining knowledge base on current products and learning about new products.

  • Identify product(s) the customer requires that may not be stocked by the Company and sourcing the product(s).

  • Providing pricing quotations and follow-up on quotes.

  • Purchasing (direct orders).

  • Counter Sales (where applicable).

  • Shipping & Receiving – daily verify orders and fill-in if the shipper/receiver is absent (where applicable).

  • Credits/Debits.

  • Returns – as required.

  • Providing basic technical support on products.

  • Provide quotations and product information.

  • Troubleshooting (freight problems, expediting, etc.)

  • Responding to inquiries.

  • Closing orders.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • High School Diploma required however post secondary courses in sales or marketing an asset

  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office required

  • 1-3 years related experience in an inside technical sales environment

  • Experience in preparing quotations and bid documents a strong asset

  • Product knowledge or industry experience in the electrical or mechanical sectors is ideal

  • Ability to work with technical sales applications with strong analytical ability

  • Although the work is in a team environment, must have the ability to work independently

  • A very strong, proactive, results oriented skill set required.

Remuneration for this position will consists of a base salary between $60-65K commensurate upon experience with the target income in first year of $80-90K in addition to benefit program and appropriate expenses when required.
