Manager, Customer Marketing – Global Company!

Summit has partnered with a global leader in the baked good industry in their hunt for a Manager, Customer Marketing!
Supports both the Retail and Foodservice Channels and is responsible for contributing to the company’s sales and profitability goals by utilizing customer and consumer insights to develop strategic plans, new food innovation and marketing activation programs that drive growth and support the brand/business targeted list of Strategic and Priority accounts. 
Responsibilities

  • Develops and executes Channel and Customer strategies, marketing plans and programs to achieve volume and profit goals and build brand and/ or customer loyalty.
  • Develops in collaboration with Category Managers and Culinary Innovation team, new food innovation in order to increase customer penetration and growth.
  • Analyzes consumer habits, trends and competitive activity and develop strategies to grow market share and drive consumption at the Customer level.
  • Identifies Strategic and Priority Customer needs and recommends solutions that support the company brand and/or category business initiatives.
  • Performs ongoing financial business analysis, including assessing the ROI of new food launches and Customer marketing programs.
  • Develops appropriate sales communications for Channel, including customer-facing presentations. Actively participates in Customer presentations and meetings.
  • Supports collaboration cross functionally with respect to Sales, Operations and Marketing to support a close and effective partnership to deliver against customer requirements with respect to our client’s retail business, brand and store perimeter, new food launches and the execution of sales plans.
  • Contributor to a high performance selling and operations organization which fosters customer centricity, teamwork, personal accountability, a winning attitude, and fact-based selling skills.
  • Develops strong working relationships with key stakeholders, both within and outside the company, peers and employees at all levels in customer organizations. 

Skills, Experience & Qualifications

  • Education Bachelor’s Degree in a Business oriented field or relevant discipline, Business Administration, Bachelor of Commerce or a Masters Business Administration (MBA).
  • 5 – 7 years of CPG Marketing, Customer Marketing or Shopper Activation, Customer Planning and/or Insights combined Sales/Account Management experience within best practice top tiered CPG organizations focused in food and beverage with critical career experiences in Marketing, Brand Management & Innovation, Customer Investment, Sales Planning, Shopper insights, Category Management and potentially Marketing/Brand Management assignments.
  • Will possess a blend of strategic and tactical leadership in being the Voice of the Customer and the Consumer in our organization.
  • Superior business acumen; an ability to identify key business drivers and optimize for results. The incumbent will have a track record of leveraging their business acumen in terms of customer understanding, consumer insights and market dynamics to achieve competitive advantage and in making superior business decisions.
  • Solid understanding and experience with large, complex customers and multiple channels.
  • Proven ability to build value in customer relationships including effective alignment of the Sales organization with the customer requirements to support customer satisfaction.

This individual will provide input on new food concepts, initiatives, and brand plans in alignment with the Customer and the Consumer.

  • Solid understanding of marketing, sales and operational fundamentals in Customer deliverables with an understanding of how cross functional areas impact the sales process and customer management to optimize growth and achieve business objectives.
  • An individual who is proactive in understanding the competitive retail landscape and consumer trends to support growth and profitability.
