National Account Manager – Consumer Goods Industry – Brampton

For 20+ years, our client has been pursuing their Vision of becoming a leading innovator in environment sustainability while providing best in class consumer products. They supply many of North America’s leading grocery, drug, mass merchandise chains and food service operators with private label product that are convenient, healthy and deliver tremendous value.

They are looking for a National Account Executive to join their team. This is a new position that will not only be focused on securing relationships with new large-scale retailers, but leading existing large retailer accounts in Canada and the US. This position reports to the Vice-President of Sales.

 

What you should expect:

  • Must be able to drive growth through new customer’s not just base customers. Must have the ability to prospect new customers, across multiple channels. The ability to develop a new business plan and execute against it is critical to this role.
  • Achieve targeted sales growth for assigned territory accounts and pursue new account opportunities in all channels of distribution.
  • Manage customer expectations and build customer relationships in support of sales plan through strategic customer contact and follow up. Make sales calls, conduct meetings with customers, presenting plan product information and business building ideas.
  • Responsible for monthly customer contact and present business reviews which identify issues preventing growth and opportunities that drive growth.
  • Provide sales forecasting information to the Sales and Operations Planning Process. Work closely with customer service rep to update on an as needed basis.
  • Maintain knowledge of competitor products, sales strategies and pricing (wholesale and retail) in assigned territory.
  • Work closely with Customer Service to deliver on service level agreements, ensuring customer relationships are managed through all issues and opportunities. Align the company’s functional and expertise with customer functional expertise.
  • Maintain solid image of the products, employees and company standards while representing the Company to the customer.
  • Strong focus on Wholesale trade and growing the business with wholesalers and food service companies.

 

What you should bring:

  • Minimum of 10 years of sales experience calling on retailer HQ’s in the consumer products industry
  • Multi-channel experience is a significant plus (supermarket, club, mass, food service, drug, export, etc…)
  • Cross Border experience is a definite asset.
  • Experience selling to the export market is a big plus
  • Some Beverage experience preferred
  • Private Label experience a plus but not mandatory
  • Proven ability to sell above the buyer level
  • Experience & history of driving significant sales growth
  • Aggressive with experience finding new business, not just maintaining current business
