Production / Operations Manager – Tri Cities

Production / Operations Manager Vancouver:

Based in the GVRD Tri-Cities branch location you will provide leadership and direction ensuring the consistent implementation of company procedures in connection with the manufacturing and up-fitting operations and increased market share in the marketplace.

Responsibilities include:

  • Provide leadership, set clear expectations and demonstrate high standards of work practices
  • Actively support customer satisfaction initiatives
  • Plan and coordinate job order requirements
  • Schedule work load to maximize productivity and efficiency in the shop
  • Process and control work-in-progress in a timely manner to meet on-time and on-spec delivery
  • Ensure that the team understands and meets quality expectations
  • Improve customer satisfaction by identifying problem areas and initiating corrective procedures relating to shop floor, service or office procedures
  • Encourage continuous improvement in shop operations through discussions among management and sales
  • Manage required training needs, performance evaluations and guidance sessions for direct reports
  • Investigate and report all accidents or near misses
  • Promote and participate in workplace safety, environmentally sound and healthy behaviors and objectives at all times in support of Health and Safety Policy and best practices


  • Post secondary education with a technical focus and experience in a supervisory position (would be an asset)
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in the heavy equipment manufacturing industry and strong technical aptitude for installations, hydraulics, PTO installation, electrical circuits, air and hydraulic valves, welding, etc.
  • Experience in Lean Manufacturing
  • Strong leadership, coaching and team building skills
  • Strong planning and mechanical abilities
  • Self-motivated and adaptable to changing and multiple priorities with aggressive deadlines
  • Computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft Applications
