Role: Python Pre-Sales Solution Engineer
Location: Vancouver (No Remote Opportunity)
Compensation $110k – $125k DOE
Our client is disrupting the Data Science, Machine Learning and Application Security marketplace.  They are looking for an experienced Pre-Sales Solution Engineer with Python experience.
In this role, you will be reporting to the VP, Sales.  The Pre-Sales Solution Engineer will drive and actively support the technical parts of the sales process.  If you have a passion for new technologies/innovation, have an entrepreneurial spirit, the chops to help solve customers’ code problems and communicate solutions, apply now!
What you will do

  • Work with account executives on assigned opportunities, prioritizing based on maximizing sales target achievements and corporate goals
  • Scope the technical solution required to address customer requirements, recommend solutions that optimize value for the customer
  • Review technical details of customer requirements, including details of open source libraries/packages in order to prepare customization estimates.
  • Be able to recommend alternative solutions and collaborate with customers after understanding their development use cases and challenges.
  • Manage process of guided trials to ensure successful experience
  • Present future product features in order to gather feedback from customers
  • Maintain collaborative relationships with technical influencers in the sales process
  • Respond to functional and technical elements of RFIs/RFPs
  • Collaborate with product management, engineering, support, and marketing, providing feedback from the field to internal stakeholders to align solution to market requirements
  • Manage technical back-end systems that give insight into customers/users, improve systems and run data queries as required
  • Work with other teams to support customers post-sales as required
  • Share technical product knowledge with sales team

What You Bring

  • Experience with Python a must;
    • Experience with other languages (Java, Go, Ruby, Perl, JavaScript, etc) an asset
    • Experience in applying Python to analytics/data science/machine learning use cases an asset
    • Experience with Linux, Windows, Docker and cloud infrastructures (such as AWS) an asset
  • University degree or college diploma in computer science or related field
  • 2-5+ years relevant customer-facing experience with IT solutions in a business-to-business (B2B) environment (in a sales, support, or services/consulting role)
  • Experience selling to or working with large enterprises, particularly with highly secure IT environments
  • A natural problem solver with the ability to proactively multi-task and manage multiple opportunities and customers
  • Excellent written, verbal communication, and presentation skills
  • Entrepreneurial, strong work ethic, ability to be self-directed but also collaborative
  • Able to travel up to 25% (North America) as required
