Sales & Marketing Leader- Heating/ Cooling Equipment Manufacturer

Summit has partnered with a leading manufacturer of heating & cooling products in Toronto in their hunt for a Sales and Marketing Leader!

  • Must have leadership experience & in selling through distribution channels!

Must Have Experience

  • 7-10 Years of Sales experience in manufacturing or similar industry is a must (ex. HVAC, Construction etc)
  • Extensive technical knowledge of industry and products
  • Eng sales experience as an asset
  • Must have proven tangible results for sales improvements in similar role
  • Experience in senior leadership role, leading a team of 7 or more
  • Must have toolbox of best practices to build into the organization
  • Must be a visionary to create, develop and lead the department for the future (Sales team, customer service and marketing)
  • Must be able to build and motivate a team from ground up
  • Entrepreneurial go-getter to greenfield the department, set the team up for success and achieve the plan

Education & Other Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree mandatory
  • Technical experience is mandatory (ex BSc in Eng as an asset)
  • General Contracting background/experience highly preferred

Working Conditions

  • 30% time to be spent in the field (meeting reps/ on site etc)

Tools knowledge

  • Microsoft office products (Excel, Word, Ppt, Outlook etc)
  • Must be able to read and interpret technical drawings/floorplans
  • Experience with AudoCad and other Eng tools

Within the first 9 months:

  1. Responsible for improving revenue of the company for all associated company brands (including plan and execution of strategy)
  2. Responsible for Green fielding & setting up org structure for success
  3. Responsible for managing entire department’s performance (Sales, Customer Service, Marketing)

Structure & People Mgmt

  • Help create the best organizational structure for the department
  • Complete a gap analysis to assess current talent and missing skills
  • Fill gaps with existing and or/new team members
  • Manage and oversee the team’s performance
  • Complete regular performance reviews and all related tasks
  • Responsible for team training, development and mentorship


  • Create a sales roadmap that aligns with leadership’s vision
  • Profitably grow the sales within all markets and all brands
  • Plan and develop your team to support this goal
  • Identify, develop and close sales opportunities
  • New product development sales channels and support (help us create new revenue streams)
  • Develop and implement a strategic targeted program for specific product lines?
  • Identify and develop service and sales partners to dynamically grow our business
  • Assist our existing, direct and independent rep sales force, as needed, through the cultivation of strong relationships with our reps, customers and business development contacts


  • Participate in Sales training/development programs as required (product training, sales mgmt. orientation, rep development and training etc)
  • Participate in trade shows/ marketing events as required
  • Suggest new vehicles to attract and develop new partners

Customer Support

  • Improve customer satisfaction by putting performance tools/metrics in place
  • Support collateral development program to successfully launch new products (catalogues, material etc.)
