Business Development Manager – Travel & Tourism Industry

Overview

Our client is a world renowned and growing company within the travel & tourism industry and is looking for a hungry business development manager to join their team. Reporting to the National Sales Manager, this position is responsible for generating new business through the development of relationships with agency and tour operator partners in Eastern Canada. This role is meant for a true entrepreneurial road warrior that is eager to build strong relationships and close new business. *Fluency in both French and English is required*.

 

Tasks & Responsibilities

  • Identify and develop new business opportunities through strong relationship building with agencies and trade accounts
  • Assist agencies and trade partners in formulating sales and marketing strategies
  • Grow existing business through targeted sales strategies
  • Complete territory analysis through monitoring of competition, industry trends, and economic climate
  • Effectively use CRM to develop a database of existing and prospect trade accounts as well as to manage sales activities throughout the sales cycle
  • Attend and participate in a variety of trade shows, training, and industry events relevant to new business and revenue generation
  • Generate and submit sales activity reports to the National Sales Manager

 

Job Requirements

  • Completion of Postsecondary Education
  • Fluency in both English and French (verbal and written) is mandatory
  • 3+ years of proven sales experience
  • Strong knowledge of the Eastern Canadian Retail Travel agency market is an asset
  • Strong understanding of building and executing effective marketing programs
  • Entrepreneur at heart
  • Ability to travel throughout territory up to 75% of the time, often overnight
  • A valid driver’s license and access to use of a reliable personal vehicle
  • Polished communication and presentation skills that reflect a luxury brand
  • Hunter mentality with a desire to prospect, negotiate, and close new business
