About Our Client:

Our client is a leading manufacturer of specialty consumer products.

Position Scope:

The Strategic Account Manager’s primary function is to develop new sales of products and services and effectively manage a sales territory that targets growth within the existing Key Customer base, achieving sales, volume and profitability targets while ensuring customer requirements are being met.  The Strategic Account Manager is expected to grow the territory via successful prospecting of new customers within targeted markets. Must work with and support various internal constructs to drive new sales growth connecting with various departments that include but are not limited to: Sales & Marketing, Customer Service, Purchasing, R&D, Manufacturing and Operations to create a highly responsive customer experience and elicit profitable growth.

Responsibilities:

  • Achieve or exceed annual planned sales objectives for the assigned territory or market segments while maintaining expenses within assigned budgeted guidelines
  • Participate in the preparation and implementation of annual territory budgets and sales plans
  • Identify, report and execute on potential sales growth opportunities and factors which could influence the company’s corporate and local marketing plans and objectives
  • Maintain an active and full pipeline with updates completed on a regular basis
  • Establish strong business relationships with existing customer base and develop value relationships with potential clients to expand business
  • Attend regular production, customer service, and sales meetings as required to aid in the smooth flow of customer initiatives
  • Where applicable with respect to the account base, review and ensure inventory is being moved and allocated as required
  • Participation in Trade Shows as required
  • Willingness to travel

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor of Business, Science or equivalent experience
  • SAP experience preferred
  • 7-10 years of sales experience, 3+ as a Key/Strategic Account Manager
  • Manufacturing experience desired
  • Strong presentation abilities
  • Strong Communication skills, written and oral
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills required
