Technical Sales Representative – Industrial

Our client is a leading supplier of industrial products servicing the construction and mining industries worldwide with over 100 distributors in Canada.  The Technical Sales Representative based in Winnipeg or in Saskatchewan will deliver solutions to the region, grow market share and support our clients both existing and new.

The successful candidate will have a mission and responsibilities to:

  • Maximize sales of all  products to our current and new customers through  prospecting activities focused towards the assigned market.
  • Ensure that related sales targets are met in terms of unit sales and revenue generation while giving due attention to highest price realization.
  • Increase market share in the assigned territory through an efficient sales process and increased market coverage.
  • Ensure proper & professional follow-up of customers/prospects and coordination with distributors operating within the assigned territory.
  • Promote the business concepts throughout the assigned territory, develop and extend the existing customer base as well as identify new business opportunities.
  • Understand/gather information about the Market potential, competitor’s activities, new applications and constantly report to the immediate manager.

Experience Requirements

  • Proven experience in selling industrial equipment, ideally compressed air equipment.
  • Strong ability to close orders.
  • Good understanding and experience on sales territory management and its actual implementation.

Knowledge/Educational Requirements

  • Engineering degree (preferable) or equivalent gained from education and experience
  • Knowledge of the compressed air industry (especially industrial air compressors) and its applications.

Personality requirements

  • A proven self-starter & a team player who requires minimum supervision and can coordinate efforts to achieve sales targets.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to make technical presentations.
  • Computer literate (Microsoft Office, Lotus Note etc.)
  • Good understanding and use of company rules and policies (applicable to the sales process).
