Territory Sales Representative

We are currently in an active search for a Territory Sales Representative for the company’s Edmonton location. Reporting to the Edmonton Branch Manager, the successful candidate should be an energetic, self-motivated, positive, and service oriented individual. They must have a strong background, in-depth knowledge within the interiors industry and possess excellent interpersonal skills.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Build, maintain and strengthen relationships with an existing dealer, developer, and contractor customer segment
  • Promote and sell a full range of products to these customer segments
  • Become known as THE resource in the market for product knowledge on full range of products as well as the best delivery agent of service
  • Work in concert with the company’s branch Architectural and Design representatives to secure specifications and convert the specs into shipped orders
  • Reset customer showrooms and stocking programs
  • Maintain and update displays within the market which involves set up and take down of large product displays
  • Daily movement of sample boards up to 15 pounds in weight
  • Prospect and generate new business
  • Manage projects from initial specifications through completion

Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years sales experience, preferably within the flooring, stone and tile or related industries
  • Degree/Diploma will be considered an asset however relevant and proven sales experience will be seriously considered
  • Ability to lead by example and maintain a high level of ethics and professionalism
  • Positive attitude, self motivator, goal oriented with the ability to foster strong relationships
  • Strong sales, organization, and time management skills
  • Continuous travel to and meeting with clients at their locations and on job sites
  • Team player with excellent communication skills both written and oral
  • Ability to establish and meet work priorities and deadlines
  • Extremely versatile and can work at a fast pace, in a quickly changing work environment
  • Self-motivated, results driven, professional attitude, detail oriented, and a team player above all else
  • Hands on and willing to do what it takes to get the job done
  • Efficient and enthusiastic customer service approach that will enable you to deal with challenging situations with integrity, empathy, and sincerity
  • Ability to perform up to 20% overnight travel

Remuneration

Remuneration for this position will consist of a base salary and commission program that will target first year income at $85K+ in addition to company vehicle, expenses, and full benefit program.
