Ultrasound Technologist (Sonographer)

The Ultrasound Technologist (Sonographer) provides delivery of ultrasound services as requested by Physicians, and deals effectively with related patient management, exam requests, diagnostic file management, equipment and supplies management. Where urgent demand exists, they assist in the provision of radiographic/ECG duties, if appropriately trained and qualified.

The successful candidate will maintain a safe environment in accordance with professional and provincial guidelines and ensure compliance with quality assurance programs and maintain standards put forth by Accreditation.

Education and Certification/Licensure/Registration

  • Must be a graduate of an approved and accredited Ultrasound training program.
  • ​Must be a Registered Ultrasound Technologist and maintain active registration with Sonography Canada and/or the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS).
  • Registration with the Canadian Association of Medical Radiography Technologists (CAMRT) would be an asset.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Skilled with Windows OS and Microsoft Office programs
  • Demonstrated effective oral and written communication skills required in English.   French may also be required.
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as a team member.
  • Demonstrated organizational and interpersonal skills with ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships in a multi-disciplinary team environment and with external agencies, groups and the public required.
  • Proficient analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Maintains confidentiality with all information entrusted to the position.
