7 Linkedin Changes To Keep In Mind When Looking For a Job

Our Canadian recruiters use Linkedin all the time to connect with prospective candidates and get a better sense of their strengths and skills for positions in industries such as Sales, Oil & Gas, Pharmaceutical, IT, and Financial. With some new changes rolling into effect with Linkedin recently, it’s easy to point out the candidates that are not active on their social media since their profile is yet to be updated.

In her article, Kristin Johnson lists 7 Linkedin changes that take priority including:

Be sure your picture is the right size. I’m still seeing profiles that have the old, smaller-sized photos where you can hardly see who the person is. This gives the impression that the individual doesn’t understand how to use the technology. Of course, you know you’re not a luddite, but the recruiter looking at your profile may think you’re technologically challenged.

To avoid this, upload a new photo with the correct specifications.”
